Great Lengths Hair Extensions

I have noticed more and more women are getting extensions these days do to the fact that they want longer or more voluminous hair. I have attended this years I.B.S. at the Jacob Javits Center N.Y., and it was all about hair extensions. There are so many companies to choose from. So why do we at the THOMAS COLE SALON choose Great Lengths for extensions? Well let me tell you.

Great Lengths purchases hair from India. They purchase what is called temple hair. Chinese and European hair that does not compare and is very inconsistent in quality. Some companies even purchase hair that is combed and collected by Indian women pulled from brushes and the direction of the hair cuticle is mixed and attached any which way. By the time the hair gets to you, it looks really nice but when you wash your extensions you get tremendous frizz because of this low quality hair. Great Lengths uses a special Osmosis process for the de-pigmentation of the hair. this leaves it in the best condition possible. That's why Great Lengths utilizes 100% human hair. The best Indian virgin hair. Indian hair is the closest type of hair to Caucasian hair.

I think it is a fascinating process watching someone actually change their appearance in a matter of hours. The process could take up to 6 hours plus, depending on how much hair you are in need of. Price varies according to amount of hair and prior removal costs ranging from $1000-3000 plus. This is definitely a commitment but the ladies that do and take care of their hair are the ones that I stop and stare at and say wow what beautiful hair that is , i wonder if she has extensions?.....Get a consultation first before you commit!

Hair Today Gone Tomorrow

With so many celebs stepping out in beautiful bobs and pixies ala the sleek Michele Williams http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/LNX7qyDyfRH/2011+National+Board+Review+Motion+Pictures/C1h1VLmpQRQ/Michelle+Williams the question on so many womens lips these days is "To Chop or Not to Chop". While these looks are chic and sexy they are not for everyone. REPEAT: NOT FOR EVERYONE! Here is a checklist that you should ask yourself before you get in the stylist chair. Please, for your sake and theirs.

1. Please ask your trusted professional stylist first if this look will be flattering for you.
Your stylist will be the most honest and theycan provide a professional hair audit.

2. Do I really, without doubt, want to go this short?
You really have to be ready for this change.

3. Do I have the right face shape for this cut?
These shorter styles do not work for certain shape faces.

4. Do I have the right texture to acheive this look?
So important because if you are the type to wash and wear you have to have the right hair texture or you must commit to styling it a bit.

5. If you can get through the checklist with a positive outlook, then and only then would you book that appointment.

A great thing to do is to start pulling pictures from current magazines and high end department store catalogs such as Nordstrom and Bloomingdales.
